I'm Nicola, a family photographer based in Chamonix. I create natural, relaxed portraits in the mountains that capture how your family actually feels on holiday — not stiff, not posed, just real.
Sessions start from €80. Most families book a 1-hour mountain adventure session, and we work around nap times, meltdown windows, and whatever the weather decides to do.
Whether you're here for a ski holiday, a summer hiking trip, or a longer stay in the French Alps, I'll find the location and pace that works for your family.
I'm also happy to travel — Annecy, Megève, Les Gets, La Clusaz, and beyond. If you're somewhere in the Alps, get in touch.
Mountain adventure sessions — We head somewhere scenic: the Mer de Glace, the Brévent, a meadow above the tree line, or the village itself. We walk, explore, and I photograph along the way. Just family fun and you being you in an extraordinary place.
Ski sessions — On the slopes or fresh off a run, these sessions capture the energy of your ski holiday. Kids in goggles and helmets, rosy cheeks, big smiles. One of the most popular options for families visiting Chamonix in winter.
Village and valley sessions — Prefer something lower-key? Chamonix town and the surrounding valley are full of beautiful spots — the Arve river, the old quarter, the views up to Mont Blanc. Ideal for families with very young children or babies.
I'm a good fit if you want photos that feel like memories, not a photoshoot. Here's what that actually looks like:
I keep it moving. We never stand in one spot long enough for anyone to get bored. I give kids something to do — throw a snowball, run ahead, climb on something — and photograph the reaction.
I work at your family's pace. If someone needs a snack break, we take one. If a toddler flatly refuses to cooperate, I work around it. I have a trick up my sleeve for every cheeky little human.
I know these mountains. I've lived in Chamonix for years and I know where the light is best at each time of day, which spots are worth the short hike, and which locations to avoid when it's busy. That local knowledge makes a real difference to your photos.

One week after the photo session you will be able to pick and choose the images that you would like to purchase. We will organise a date and time for your private reveal session via zoom in the comfort of your home at a time convenient to you. This will include my professional assistance when choosing your favourite images and products.

All images are professionally retouched and delivered to you as high-resolution digital files. Packages start from €200.

Family Photoshoots in Chamonix
Any age! I've photographed newborns, toddlers, and teenagers in the French Alps. For babies and very young children, I recommend a village or valley session to keep travel easy. Older children love the mountain adventure sessions — they get to actually explore, which makes for much more natural photos.
What age can children be for a mountain photoshoot?
What should we wear for a family photoshoot in Chamonix?
In winter: your ski kit works brilliantly (goggles, helmets, colourful jackets — all of it). For non-ski sessions, dress in layers and coordinate loosely rather than matching exactly. Avoid large logos. In summer, light colours photograph well against the mountain backdrop. Read more here
Do you photograph families in winter as well as summer?
Yes — winter and summer are both popular. Winter sessions (December to April) capture the magic of a ski holiday: snow, slopes, and that particular mountain energy. Summer sessions (June to September) give you wildflowers, sunshine, and the full green valley. I photograph year-round.
How far in advance should I book a family photoshoot?
During peak ski season (February half-term, Easter) and summer holidays (July–August), I recommend booking 4–6 weeks ahead. Outside peak periods, 1–2 weeks is usually fine. If your dates are flexible, get in touch and I'll let you know availability.
What happens if the weather is bad on the day?
I'm as flexible as possible when it comes to timing. If the forecast looks tricky, I'll be in touch ahead of your session and we'll find the best window together. And if conditions are genuinely unpleasant on the day, we can reschedule — no stress, no pressure.
